Orchestra of the Swiss Commercial Associtaion Zurich

Are you a musician interested in joining a classical orchestra?

Are you aware that the KVZ (Swiss Commercial Association) has its own orchestra? In 1896 members of the KVZ founded the Orchester des Kaufmännischen Verbandes Zürich (OKVZ). The orchestra currently consists of 45 active musicians. 32 members play string instruments and 13 musicians play wind instruments. Depending on the concert programm requirements we bring in temporary players and professional musicians to perform solo parts.

We rehears every Monday from 19:45 to 21:45 in the auditiorium of the KV-Business School at Escher Wyss Platz in Zurich. The rehearsals are conducted by Sviatoslava Luchenko. The principal is Branko Simić.

Both conductor and principal are highly experienced professional musicians, whereas the active members of the orchestra are mainly amateurs. The OKVZ performs public concerts in May and November. Playing classical music at high level necessitates strong commitment and enthusiasm from all members of the orchestra.

Everybody is welcome to join the orchestra. Employment in a commercial field is not a requirement. You are invited to come to a rehearsal without obligation in order to get to know us.
